If a large volume of PVD-coatings is produced externally, logistics- and handling costs can be significantly reduced,
by producing the coatings within the production line.
If the customers uses complex PVD-systems optimized for semi conductor industry, InlineCoater™ offers similar functions
to a lower cost. If the customer uses traditional methods, i.e. wet chemical surface treatments,
PVD-coatings produced in InlineCoater™ offers a technical superior alternative at a highly competitive cost.
The coating system offers a flexible and cost effective production witch combines the advantages of both cluster tools
and batch loaded systems, the two most common system types in the market today.
InlineCoater™ is the only system on the market used for full automatic, production integrated PVD-coating,
offering universal use of coating materials and applications. Yet, coatings are still produced rationally
by the same principle as with production of semi conductors and optical media. This enables a large number
of products to be coated with PVD which earlier was far too costively and only possible to be produced by
other methods at a reasonable cost.
Calculations shows that production cost in a production integrated InlineCoater™ can be as low as down to a 10th
of the cost of a coating produced in a traditional way in a batch loaded system.
Yet, offering coatings with performance greater than traditional wet chemical processes can not give.
