High-productivity PVD systems have earlier mainly existed for specific applications, such as semiconductor chips or optical media (CD, DVD, etc.).

Impact Coatings now offers a family of systems, which for the first time makes it possible to integrate PVD into high-volume industrial workflows for a variety of applications.

The InlineCoater™ is a fully automatic, production integrated PVD system that combines the advantages of cluster tools and batch loaded systems. It enables a large number of products to be coated with PVD, where traditional batch loaded PVD systems have been disqualified due to low productivity.

The ReelCoater™ is a PVD system for volume manufacturing where products, such as electrical contacts, are produced in strip format (reel-to-reel). As an example, the ReelCoater in combination with MaxPhase allows high-volume contact material deposition on a large variety of electrical connectors, at a much lower production cost than using traditional gold electroplating.
